Hello all!

Well, I'm actually going to try and write a journal!
I don't know if I'll ever write another one after this, but hurray for new experiences!

So this past weekend was my birthday, offically welcoming me into the realm of twenty year olds everywhere. Twenty, that odd age where you are no longer a teenager and yet still not allowed to drink! (At least in the US)

Anyway, as a birthday present, my dad took me on a photography trip! I have to say it was by far the best birthday ever! All of my most recent work is from this trip.

Despite the fact that it was my birthday, that was not the main reason for the trip. Instead, I am trying to enter the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach for this coming summer and I need to build up a body of work. For those of you who don't know, the Festival is a competitive art show, which requires two viewings to be juried into the show and another jurying process during the show to be accepted for another year.

Anyway, I was trying to accumulate star shots, as can be seen in my astrophotograpy folder in my gallery. Funny thing was, I think I only got one shot that will work from the entire trip! I might have gotten more, if not for the fact that the first night it got to 20 degrees F and the second to 26 degrees F! For me, born and raised in sunny So Cal, that's cold!

Even without the shots I need, it was an amazing, whirlwind of a weekend trip, and I can't wait for my next trip this weekend!
